What are the hats!!

Hats are not just a fashion accessory;

they are statements of personality, culture, and style.

Whether you’re shielding yourself from the sun, braving the cold, or simply adding a touch of flair to your outfit,

there’s a hat out there for every occasion.

I just asked ChatGPT!!

Yes hats are not just a fashion accessory, functional, attitude and believes, supports, style and love!!

Adieu 2023…..GOGO 2024

Hi

Adieu to 2023….
I didn’t have good 2023….

This 2024

I feel great.

I became 55 beginning of this year. Japanese single number pronounce GOGO.

I stopped eating sugar stuff other year, I will repeat this year!

When you are stop eating biscuit with tea, cake, I instantly noticed my face skin condition became soft and smooth next morning.

I wasn’t lying. when I washed my face, I just felt with my hands just right after started.
I may take a spoonful of honey with Greek yoghurt.
Snacking of some nuts and seeds…

Feels great naturally getting lighter.

“Over eating sugar can manifest negatively on the skin.

From premature ageing, loss of collagen and weakened elastin, fine lines,

and acne (as a result of overproduction of sebum) and inflammation on the skin,”

A Happy New Year!!

2023 is here now!!

I haven’t been back to Japan for long time.

Last time I was there shortly after my dear dad was passed away in 2018….

It was very sad time….

But this year,

I look forward to seeing cherry blossom in April and going to see my cousin in Ishigaki-island where tropical climate.

What I miss most about Japan is Onsen – Hot Spring Bath and Cherry Blossom.

I guess I need to use bath bomb which my son gave me for the Christmas.

That keeps me warm and making me to dream of Japanese cherry blossoms.

Satisfaction….

I just delivered my design collection for the Fashion Show, that has been delayed and modified because of Covid-19.

I am questioning myself and also other people who decide I am not an artist.Β  ( How dare they can tell me why I am not ?!)

” What is wrong if I satisfying my design? ”
I am always love my designs when I completed.

I am a creator, and I design and create things what I satisfy my sketch image to actualΒ  product.

There is no rule, because rule I make for my creations.

So I can stop when I want and I can go over when I need. There is no right answer, until I get my creation complete in my mind…

But, I love collaborations, that make the other creator feed into my designs their perspective.

I love that. Sometime that is different from mine, but that is OK, because that also other creator initiate their creative view.

I don’t want to interrupt for their opinions, butΒ  what I don’t like is they don’t have any opinions their creations…

Then I may stop collaborating with those people…

But when I serve the client, that is different approach.

Because, my job is make the client satisfied. So I talk and make sure

if the client is happy about what I have done.

That is completely different satisfactions.

Always client is initiate their preference.

That is Tocofashion’s approach.

Differences….great things!!!

It was so sad to hear Meghan and Harry are suffering from unhappy condition….

I was thinking….when woman is in pregnancy,

you get uncontrollable hormones are going through your body and manipulate your emotions…

That is the part of the pregnancy you may have to go through….

Meghan and Harry were so desperate and needed to let world know how they feel.

Timing was not fair at all, especially when Duke, 99 years old in the hospital for special care….
As usual bravo to Queen, she did her statement in public next day, and

told she and family love them and cares them and Kate was sorry and send flowers to them.

In the UK, it is normal you are asked what group you are identify your ethnicity and gender?

I understand, you will need to keep the record for research, medical, crime, etc.

Monarchy, is very strange system but we are used to live with emperor and royal family in Japan.

I am happy to Monarchy is doing great job to give great relationship with other countries.

Before the Monarchy start working as symbol of Japan, time was shogun ruling which was military powering era or even before emperor was our God.

And Shogun was limiting opening the business with other world.

Graduatelly, or forcefully had to open the door to other world and that eventually,

Monarchy had to be symbol of Japan to keep the good relation with other country and protect Japan from any politic conflicts.

Definitely being family of Royal isn’t ordinary life….

Queen has been acting Queen for 70 years without any rest 24 hours 7 days 365 days she is United Kingdom of Queen…so is Duke, Philip,

they have been through World War, and disasters, all the politics change, and I imagine or anybody can see every single events are big challenge.

All the royal family members have to go through similar stress every day not like as ordinary people…..

They have seen and are experiencing what the different from their view of up bringing and accepting and avoiding for all the challenge.

I suppose they have their honest opinions and curiosity may be the colour of skins or cultural differences, but that isn’t bad thing, we all have different roots, different opinions.

Already Meghan was accepted in the British royal family, so should celebrate the differences herself as a royal member…

I hope Meghan once she gave 2nd baby, she will act as member of the royal family and accept her origins and use the great deal to ambassador of the world !!

Auld Lang Syne…

I was born and brought up in Japan.

Where I was in the school always we sang ” Auld Lang Syne” at the graduation day.

Our education is Primary for 6years. So we have 6 year of Graduation days.

So we practice 6 years.

Junior high is another 3 years, and high school 3 years…

Then get higher like Uni.

Anyway, we sing Auld Lang Syne is almost as our semi national song.

That is all Japanese people’s reflex if you hear the tune, we can sing in Japanese….

First started from Japanese Navy School sang at the graduation.

But these days, we often hear the tune, when the shop is about to close, it is pressurising customers to hurry up and go!! πŸ™‚

That tune isn’t as ” Auld Lang Syne”, it is from the film ” Waterloo Bridge ” farewell waltz danced by Vivian Lee and Robert Taylor….

Anyway, we love the song and most of us even didn’t realize it was from Scotland and Robert Burn’s famous poem.

How can he see his poem is widely loved in the world, I wonder ?

Sewing…

When I learned sewing in School for the first time in later primary school year in Japan,

I used a ” Ashibumi- Mishin ” – “Foot step operated sewing machine” at school.

I believe it was Singer foot pedal sewing machine like the picture above. (Β  Pic from Pinterst )

I need to feed the leather belt to operate,

Then put both foot but right foot slightly forward than left then turn the Stop motion turn away from you and Balance Wheel turn toward to you while first step is going,

otherwise, feed going backword…

It was great fun, when you can sew smoothly, and you don’t want to stop it at all!!

But you really needed to practice first to get going for pedalling and threading ! πŸ™‚

I got newsletter from Japan House in London the interesting article about knitted fabric history in Japan.

And I saw the image of Meiji period kimono ladies are sewing rather elegant way! ( Pic below )

So I remembered my first sewing was when I was making doll clothes with my little fingers

sewing dress with yellow cotton fabric with thread and needles,

and I think I put 3 big green buttons with sticky tapes in front for my finishing touch πŸ™‚

And I send it to my Grandma with letter to Tokyo, and she was the Kimono dressed lady because of her occupation as well,

She was a tea ceremony master of Urasen-ke style.

She replied to me, ” You are so great in hand work, you should try to be a fashion designer! ”

So I tried πŸ™‚

Ballet….

Christmas time….

I love Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, love the story, characters and amazing different music from the different scene…

I love The Red shoes the film in 1948 !! didn’t realize that old, but never get old every year I see on TV!!

I watched Matthew Bourne’s production The Red Shoes was amazing!! So much details of performance and costumes…

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000qry2/matthew-bournes-the-red-shoes

Nutcracker in the English National Opera is available online for free for difficult year!

Performance are fantastic and all sets and everything is fab, but I admit, that is all I can say….

I was strucked by the performance in London sometime in 1998,9,2000 something like that….

I think it was at the Coliseum in London, or was it Sadller’s wells?? but anyway, the venue wasn’t main memory,

but her strong performance was sooooo present.

From the beginning of the performance gave me all my hair stood….

Even the music was the background for her performance…

After seeing her interview, I understood why her performance was so strong and nutcracker was not getting any emotional sensations…

She is dancing all woman natural woman and natural and unnatural human in her body….Truly amazing performer Sylvie Guillem is…

I am sure she will be showing some amazing performance somehow and someway in the future…
